More Than Swapping Fixtures

Anyone can hang a light on an existing box. The real work is what's behind it: cutting in recessed cans without wrecking the ceiling, fishing wire to where no wire exists, installing fan-rated boxes so a ceiling fan doesn't work itself loose, and making sure dimmers actually match the LED fixtures they control (mismatched dimmers are the #1 cause of buzzing and flicker in new lighting).

Recessed lighting layouts

We design the layout before we cut a single hole — spacing cans for even coverage, keeping clear of joists and HVAC, and putting kitchen task lighting where you actually work, not just in a grid. Modern canless LED wafers let us light rooms that old-style cans couldn't touch, with minimal attic access.

Ceiling fans done properly

A fan needs a fan-rated box — a standard light box will eventually fail under the motion. On installs where no fixture existed, we run the wiring, install the proper box and bracing, and set up separate switching for light and fan where the wiring allows. Vaulted ceilings and 20-foot entryways aren't a problem.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does recessed lighting cost per light in Houston?

Typical installed cost runs $150–$300 per can depending on attic access, ceiling height, and switching, with better per-light pricing on larger layouts. A written quote comes after we see the space.

Can you install a ceiling fan where there's only a light?

Usually yes — the box must be replaced with a fan-rated box, and we confirm the switch wiring supports separate fan/light control. It's one of our most common jobs.

Why do my new LED lights flicker on the dimmer?

Almost always a dimmer/LED compatibility mismatch. Older incandescent dimmers don't play well with LED drivers. Swapping to a compatible LED dimmer fixes it in most cases.

Do you install landscape and outdoor lighting?

Yes — soffit lighting, coach lights, floodlights with sensors, and low-voltage landscape systems, all with weather-rated connections and GFCI protection.
