Emergency Electrical Service in Houston

Some electrical problems can wait for an appointment next week. These cannot. If something in your panel smells hot, sparks, buzzes, or just died, call now — electrical emergencies get priority scheduling, and a licensed electrician picks up the diagnosis, not a call center script.

Call immediately if you notice:

Burning or fishy smell near the panel, outlets, or switches
Breakers that trip instantly or will not reset
Buzzing, crackling, or popping from the panel
Scorch marks or heat on outlets, switches, or the panel cover
Half the house dead or lights surging bright and dim
Storm, flood, or vehicle damage to your meter or service line

What counts as an electrical emergency

Anything involving heat, smell, or smoke at the panel is a genuine fire risk — old fuse boxes and worn breakers like the one in the photo above are exactly how house fires start. A main breaker that will not reset, a dead service line after a storm, or flickering across the whole house (a failing neutral) also qualify. If you see flames or smoke, get out and call 911 first — then call us for the repair after the fire department clears the scene.

What we do when you call

We triage on the phone for free: what you are seeing, what is still energized, and whether anything needs to be shut off right now for safety. Genuine hazards jump the schedule. On site, we diagnose with meters — not guesses — make it safe first, then hand you a written price for the permanent repair before any work begins. Nights and weekends, leave a message with photos if you can; emergencies get the first callback.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you charge extra for emergency calls?

Priority and after-hours dispatch carries a higher service fee than a scheduled appointment, and we tell you the number on the phone before anyone rolls. The diagnostic fee still applies toward the repair if you proceed.

My breaker keeps tripping — is that an emergency?

A breaker that trips occasionally under load is a schedule-an-appointment problem. A breaker that trips instantly every time, will not reset, or is hot to the touch is a call-now problem — that is how panels burn.

The power company says the problem is on my side. Now what?

CenterPoint stops at the meter. Everything from the weatherhead and meter can into the house is the homeowner's — and that is exactly the work we are licensed for, including the repairs and permit after storm damage.

Can you replace my old fuse box or damaged panel the same day?

Often yes for straight swaps, depending on parts and time of day. Severely damaged or corroded services like the one pictured sometimes need a utility disconnect and inspection coordinated — we handle that scheduling and keep you powered safely in the meantime where possible.
